The requirement

Ladders needed a VP of Engineering to run the org, not just code: 12+ years of progressive engineering leadership, including at least 5 years at Senior Director or VP level, based in New York and in the office.

The search

We built a pipeline of 547 candidates and worked it down in stages: 65 recruiter-screened, 38 submitted to Ladders, 34 in active interviews, and 5 real finalists competing for one seat. This is what a genuine VP-level search looks like, it's not a role a job posting fills on its own.

Who we placed

An engineering leader who spent six years climbing from Engineering Manager to Senior Director of Engineering at a fast-growing technology firm, with an MBA earned alongside that climb. The process included a full onsite interview loop, a direct conversation with Ladders' CEO, and three confirmed references from the candidate's own former managers before an offer went out.

The outcome

Placed at $300K total comp, started within about four weeks of signing.
