Beacon Talent fills VP Sales, CRO, AE, SDR, and Customer Success seats for software companies along the Wasatch Front, from downtown Salt Lake to Lehi and American Fork, in an average of 3 weeks. Our recruiters come from sales, so the screen is built around how people sold, not how their resumes read.
Get your free Salt Lake City talent mapWe cover the whole revenue org for Utah software teams: the first quota carrier at a seed-stage startup, the player-coach who builds a team, and the executive who answers to a board.
Utah's software companies are strung along Interstate 15, from Salt Lake County south into Utah County, and their annual reports show how different the businesses are. Domo's 10-K for the fiscal year ended January 31, 2026 lists its principal executive office at 802 East 1050 South in American Fork. It reports 876 employees, 620 of them in the United States, more than 2,400 customers and fiscal 2026 revenue of $318.9 million, and it says most of its sales and professional services work is done remotely. Weave's 10-K gives 1331 West Powell Way, Lehi as its headquarters and counts 904 employees at December 31, 2025. Weave reports 2025 revenue of $239.0 million and sells subscriptions to small healthcare practices, mainly dental, optometry and veterinary, with nearly 40,000 locations subscribed. Health Catalyst's 10-K puts its principal office at 10897 South River Front Parkway in South Jordan, reports more than 1,200 team members with about 16% in India, and names hospitals, health systems and physician groups as its clients.
Recent funding is concentrated in a few verticals. Jump, a Salt Lake City company that sells an AI meeting assistant to financial advisors, announced an $80 million Series B led by Insight Partners on February 19, 2026, bringing its total raised to $105 million; the announcement says it has over 200 team members. DiversiFi, also in Salt Lake City, makes profit optimization software for third-party logistics providers. It announced an $8 million round on January 16, 2026 from Sorenson Capital, Kickstart and Peterson Ventures, and said its team grew more than 600% from 2025 to 2026. In Lehi, Paramify, a compliance and risk platform that began in federal authorization work, announced a $12 million Series A led by Moore Strategic Ventures on December 18, 2025 and said it expects its team to more than double in a year. Enzo Health, a Lehi company building AI software for home health agencies, announced a $20 million Series A led by N47 on May 4, 2026, for $26 million in total funding.
In Beacon's view, the buyer is the real filter in this market. One short list covers data and analytics teams (Domo), dental and veterinary practice owners (Weave), hospital and home health operators (Health Catalyst and Enzo), financial advisors (Jump), logistics operators (DiversiFi) and security and compliance leaders (Paramify). Healthcare shows up three times, which makes healthcare selling experience easy to find but also easy to over-weight when the seat is really a practice-owner or advisor sale.
For junior talent, Utah's public universities run dedicated sales programs. Weber State University in Ogden offers a Bachelor of Science in Professional Sales that can be finished on campus or fully online, plus a two-year sales and merchandising degree and a sales minor. Utah Valley University's Woodbury School of Business offers a Professional Sales program with an online 18-credit certificate whose credits stack toward the 120-credit bachelor's degree. Both are natural places to meet SDR candidates who have studied selling.
Office policy varies by company. Health Catalyst's annual report says it has allowed all team members to work remotely since the pandemic, while Domo's says it runs most of its sales and professional services remotely. On the real estate side, Cushman & Wakefield's third-quarter 2026 report put overall Salt Lake City office vacancy, sublease space included, at 21.9% against 23.4% a year earlier, with Class A direct vacancy at 12.7%. Utah County North, the Utah County submarket in that report, had the lowest Class A direct vacancy among the submarkets it cited, at 9.5%. CBRE's report for the quarter gave an overall figure of 21.8%.
One Utah rule shapes the offer. For non-competes signed on or after May 10, 2016, Utah limits the restriction to one year after employment ends, and an agreement that runs longer is void, according to the statute as published by FindLaw and a Parsons Behle summary. The same summary says non-solicitation and confidentiality agreements are outside that cap. This is general information, not legal advice.
"It was all Dave and the Beacon team! Loved the process, incredible talent, it's 100X better than my previous experiences."
Beacon's view, drawn only from the facts on this page, on what is different when the seat is in Utah.
Weave sells to dental and veterinary practice owners, Health Catalyst to hospital executives, Enzo to home health agency leaders. Those are three different sales motions. Write the buyer's job title into the brief before you ask for healthcare experience.
DiversiFi says its team grew more than 600% and Paramify expects to more than double. A seller from a company growing that fast has probably built process from scratch, which suits a first-hire seat. Ask what was in place before they arrived.
Domo, Weave and Health Catalyst each report headcounts of roughly 900 to 1,200. Sellers who have spent time there have worked inside a mature process, but ask for their own attainment, since the platform did part of the selling.
Health Catalyst describes company-wide remote work and Domo describes remote selling in their filings. Class A office space in Utah County North is tight by the Cushman measure, but a candidate may still be weighing fully remote offers, so state any in-person requirement up front.
A Utah non-compete ends at most a year after the last day of work. Ask each finalist what they signed and when, ask separately about non-solicitation, and have counsel read the paperwork before the offer.
Weber State and Utah Valley University both teach professional sales. For senior seats, be careful with a pure healthcare or fintech background and test whether the person has actually sold into your buyer.
The table is from the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS) survey, May 2025, for the Salt Lake City metropolitan area. These are all-industry annual wages. They are not SaaS-only and they are not on-target earnings (OTE).
| Occupation | Employment | 25th percentile | Median | 75th percentile |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sales Managers | 5,210 | $100,080 | $143,930 | $197,400 |
| Marketing Managers | 3,420 | $105,600 | $139,830 | $184,950 |
| Sales Representatives (technical and scientific products) | 2,910 | Wage figures not published by BLS for this area | ||
BLS suppresses the wage columns for technical and scientific products sales representatives in this area, so we do not estimate them. For the two manager rows, the numbers tell a SaaS hiring manager where Salt Lake sales and marketing leaders sit against everyone else in the local labor market. They do not tell you what a software company pays, because manufacturers, banks and distributors are in the same sample, and they leave out the commission and equity that SaaS offers are built on. SaaS ranges are in the 2026 GTM comp benchmarks, and the full BLS release is at bls.gov/oes.
Two comparisons from the same release. The Salt Lake City sales manager median of $143,930 is 2.9% below the U.S. median of $148,270 and 20.7% below Denver's $181,580. The marketing manager median of $139,830 is 16.2% below the U.S. median of $166,790 and 23.4% below Denver's $182,470. Inside the metro the pay range is wide: sales managers at the 75th percentile earn $197,400, about 2.0 times the 25th percentile figure of $100,080. BLS defines the area as the Salt Lake City metropolitan area, and Beacon has not confirmed whether Utah County towns such as Lehi and American Fork fall inside it, so read the table as Salt Lake-area data.

BLS OEWS May 2025 puts the median annual wage for the Salt Lake City metropolitan area at $143,930 for sales managers (5,210 employed) and $139,830 for marketing managers (3,420 employed). These are all-industry wages, not SaaS on-target earnings. BLS does not publish wage figures for technical and scientific products sales representatives in this area, so we do not quote one.
Only for a limited time. Utah's post-employment restrictions law caps a non-compete at one year from the day employment ends for agreements signed on or after May 10, 2016, and a longer one is void. Law-firm commentary says non-solicitation and confidentiality agreements fall outside that cap, so ask any candidate for every document they signed. This is general information, not legal advice.
Public announcements include Paramify's $12 million Series A in December 2025 (it expects to more than double its team), DiversiFi's $8 million round in January 2026, Jump's $80 million Series B in February 2026 and Enzo Health's $20 million Series A in May 2026. Beacon's view is that rounds like these pull experienced sellers in several directions at once, so benchmark against live offers.
Expect a range. Health Catalyst's annual report says it has let all team members work remotely since the pandemic, and Domo's says it runs most of its sales and professional services remotely. Cushman & Wakefield reported overall office vacancy of 21.9% for the Salt Lake City market in the third quarter of 2026, so space is available, but a role with a mandatory five-day office rule should say so in the first message.
